Mental model #1: start from the end

I’ve been wanting to start a thread on mental models (something I have an undying passion for) since I got back into regular writing.

I’ll probably start something similar for another series e.g. Life lessons etc, but I thought I’d share one that I came across today.

We’ve been writing a book for sometime and received some feedback from a good friend, who said he usually starts by reading the last chapter – if he doesn’t find it interesting or valuable, he’ll skip the book.

This made me think how we can focus attention on the outcome or destination, and reverse- engineer our way to that end goal.

Simple but effective.
